Particle Physics Probes of Cosmic Baryon Origin and Dark Matter

abstract

I discuss the rich connection between particle physics beyond the standard model and big questions in cosmology. I first consider the Higgs boson as the key to the origin of the cosmic matter-anti-matter asymmetry, and show it is closely related to the Higgs CP properties that could be tested from LHC to low energy experiments. As the second example, I discuss probing the structure of dark matter sector via standard model forces and the dark force. In this class of models, the dark matter could be produced in laboratories and/or exist in nature as various types of bound states, which offers new expectations for future search.
