Shock Waves and de Sitter Entropy
abstract
Various relationships between quantities in general relativity have been shown to obey thermodynamic laws in a way that is not entirely understood. Entropy has been associated with horizons in multiple contexts (specifically black hole horizons and cosmological event horizons). I will talk about our current efforts to substantiate a conjecture that shockwave solutions to Einstein's equations may also have an associated entropy.
