Quantum information and entanglement in holographic theories
abstract
We will discuss several interesting properties and predictions of Ryu and Takayanagi's conjectured holographic entanglement entropy formula, and their evidence and implications. These include strong subadditivity, monogamy of mutual information, and a phase transition in the mutual information between separated regions. We will begin with a brief tutorial on the necessary aspects of quantum information theory.
