New Opportunities with High Precision CMB Measurements

abstract

Upcoming surveys will map the cosmic microwave background (CMB) temperature and polarization with unprecedented precision. These observations will allow for huge strides forward toward well established scientific targets and will create possibilities for qualitatively new methods to access cosmological information with applications for the early universe, fundamental physics, and astrophysics. I will survey the scientific returns we expect from future experiments and discuss some novel techniques that will be made possible with the increased precision they will provide.
