Covariant Bit Threads
To better understand the relation between geometry and entanglement in the AdS/CFT context, I will explore a covariant version of a recent formulation by Freedman and Headrick of holographic entanglement entropy in terms of the so-called "Bit Threads". After motivating the utility of covariant constructs in general, I will review the bit thread picture and its derivation using the tools of Lagrangian duality and convex relaxation. I will then discuss the implications of the technique in the Lorentizian time-dependent context.
