Tricks and Treats in Missing Energy Event Kinematics
abstract
In this talk I will focus on the event kinematics of SUSY-like missing energy events at the LHC. I will discuss several recent ideas for a) identifying the signal over the Standard Model background; b) measuring the properties (masses, widths, spins and couplings) of the new particles; c) testing for the correct event topology; and d) mitigating the combinatorial problem arising in the presence of several identical particles in the final state.
