I will discuss certain exotic higher-spin chiral operators that are, in principle, allowed by the N=2 superconformal algebra. However, I will use the OPE and superconformal index to argue that in very broad classes of theories such operators are necessarily absent. Time permitting, I will describe implications of the absence of such operators on the topology of theory space.
