Parameter estimation in supersymmetric and effective dark matter models

abstract

I will discuss current efforts to constrain supersymmetric and effective dark matter model spaces in a statistically reasonable way. I'll highlight a few recent studies of the impacts of current experiments, and prospects for future ones, focussing especially on direct and indirect dark matter searches. I'll also talk about some efforts to tease out a few of the more tricky details of the techniques involved, which have tended to be glossed over in the past.
